CHRISTMAS 2020

This Year’s Tree…

I know. I have been unusually silent on here for Christmas time! There are so many wonderful things to be said about this magical holiday season of Miracles! And ordinarily, I cannot stop saying them!

2020 has been an exceptionally Magical year, giving us time to pause, reflect and reassess how we spend the precious little time we have on this Earth. This Holiday Season has very much followed suit. Shaking it up! Giving us a different way to look at things we have grown accustomed to doing some particular way.

For so many of us, the Christmas Season happens by rote. Every Year it’s the same: Shop, Decorate, Tree, Cards, Wrap, Ship, Family, Cook, Collapse… Nope – Not this Year! This Year we will need to find what is important to us and figure out how to hang on to that!

1990 is officially 30 years ago!
And I remember so many moments of the Nineties and why do they seem so much more recent than they actually were?
When I think “30 years ago,” I am still thinking 1968!
Time is a most peculiar construct.

Star of Wonder

Imagine what it must have been like…
To have such Light brought into your Life,
So Suddenly, and from out of nowhere!
Unexpectedly, there it is, Gleaming in the Sky and Giving Light…
Glistening!
Dazling!
Leading!
Shining!

When you call the Integral Yoga Institute, they answer the phone, “How may I be of service?”
I always thought this was so Beautiful.
Of course it is one of the tenets of Yoga to be of Service (The pretzel poses are only one of the eight limbs of Yoga), but to offer this straight out, first thing… it’s Inspiring!

January 3rd: Ninth Day of Christmas
Time for “Nine Ladies Dancing”

Many speculate this refers to the Nine Fruits of the Holy Spirit, as specified in Galatians 5:22.
Some believe it references the Nine Ranks of Angels, some of whom appear in TONY KUSHNER’s ANGELS IN AMERICA.
For my own self, I believe it references three Lesbian Couples and three Shamanic Woman who make the choice to remain Single.
Awesome Women, All!
And they DANCE in Jubilation!

The TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS are concluding their third Quarter.

Three French Hens

December 26th: The First Day Of Christmas
December 27th: The Second Day Of Christmas
December 28th: The Third Day Of Christmas. Today. Now.

A quick bit of internet research reveals that the Three French Hens in the Carol, “The Twelve Days of Christmas” have several symbolisms:

Some say they symbolize Faith Hope and Love
Others say they signify the Holy Trinity
And still others believe they refer to a new breed of Chicken.

In some cultures, White Chickens are believed to bring Good Luck.
For many, the Hen is a sign of Motherly Devotion
For others, it symbolizes Divine Intervention.

Tenth Day of Christmas

Amelia Christmas 14Anyone Else still have their Tree Up? We are 75% through the Season… Only Three Days remaining. Work is Beckoning, Even Carping that we have been away So Long. How can we be So Irresponsible! One might argue that the Care and Replenishment of the Soul is the Most Responsible we can be to Our Work, Our Selves, and Our Community. In these last few days as Activities begin to subside (Well, except that I was up until 4:30am Baking last night), We are given over to Reflection. Reflection might be the Bridge from the Christmas Holiday To Keeping the Christmas Spirit throughout the Year ahead… All that we need is the Willingness to build that Bridge And then Crossing it will be the most Natural thing in the World… (more…)

Ninth Day of Christmas

IMG_3739It’s Snowing Today.
A Great Day for Baking!

I have found that doing my Christmas Baking a bit Later in the Holiday,
It is received with Great Appreciation.
As one friend put it, “This is Great! It arrives just when all the other stuff is gone, and you’re craving a treat!”
I Always send Home-Baked Cookies to my Accountant.
He is Wonderful!
His entire Office seems to Appreciate it.

And apparently, Home-Baked Cookies are less common than they were years ago.
And since January is a Wildly Busy Time at an Accounting Firm,
They seem to arrive at just the right moment every year.
