Anyone Else still have their Tree Up? We are 75% through the Season… Only Three Days remaining. Work is Beckoning, Even Carping that we have been away So Long. How can we be So Irresponsible! One might argue that the Care and Replenishment of the Soul is the Most Responsible we can be to Our Work, Our Selves, and Our Community. In these last few days as Activities begin to subside (Well, except that I was up until 4:30am Baking last night), We are given over to Reflection. Reflection might be the Bridge from the Christmas Holiday To Keeping the Christmas Spirit throughout the Year ahead… All that we need is the Willingness to build that Bridge And then Crossing it will be the most Natural thing in the World… (more…)

Ninth Day of Christmas
It’s Snowing Today.
A Great Day for Baking!
I have found that doing my Christmas Baking a bit Later in the Holiday,
It is received with Great Appreciation.
As one friend put it, “This is Great! It arrives just when all the other stuff is gone, and you’re craving a treat!”
I Always send Home-Baked Cookies to my Accountant.
He is Wonderful!
His entire Office seems to Appreciate it.
And apparently, Home-Baked Cookies are less common than they were years ago.
And since January is a Wildly Busy Time at an Accounting Firm,
They seem to arrive at just the right moment every year.
Is there any Holiday Baking you wanted to try this year? (more…)

Eighth Day of Christmas
…and the Second day of 2015.
Numerologically, this is the year of 8.
2+0+1+5 = 8
8 signifies Balance.
Therefore this is the Year of Balance.
And Today, the Eighth Day of Christmas, is Also about Balance.
So, Have Some.
Or Get Some.
Or Let Go of Whatever is Creating an Imbalance in your Life.
Let it Go
And Open to your Natural Equilibrium, Poise and Stability —
Your Inherent Goodness
The Person you Truly Are…

Seventh Day of Christmas
Happy New Year.
2015
And it’s still Christmas!
There is a kind of subtle dread that begins to creep in at this point in the process.
It’s New Year’s Day, and something tells me that by this weekend,
there will be a lot of barren Christmas Trees lying out on the curbside,
awaiting pick-up.
I admit it’s a Challenge to leave it up.
If we go all Twelve Days, it Ends Monday,
and then we cannot begin the UnDecorating until Tuesday —
meaning it will likely not happen until the following Weekend.
The Feeling of Joy starts to dwindle as the weight of the task ahead rises up
and begins to feel Herculean…
Fight It!
Fight for JOY! (more…)

Fifth Day of Christmas
Well, Already I feel like a Crazy Person.
Christmas was Last Week and I am still Celebrating!
It’s only the Fifth Day of Christmas and already I’m a Social OutCast.
No one else on the train is wearing Christmas Clothing or carrying brightly wrapped packages… I am the only one.
I look around and sing to myself, “Do They Know It’s Christmastime at All?”

Fourth Day of Christmas
Fourth Day of Christmas.
Fourth Day of Kwanzaa.
Kwanzaa is Such a Beautiful Holiday.
To be honest, I am not sure I am technically allowed to celebrate it,
As my ancestry is not of the African Diaspora.
But I also know that “Happy Holidays” often sounds more like an Apology
than the Proclamation it deserves to be,
and I would rather err on the side of Celebrating and Enjoying Life Too Much
than too Little.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS to me means MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HANNUKAH AND HAPPY KWANZAA AND HAPPY SOLSTICE AND HAPPY ST. LUCIA DAY AND HAPPY THREE KINGS DAY AND GOD JUL and though I Know we may be Months from EID or DIWALI, A BLESSED EID AND HAPPY DIWALI TOO! (more…)

First Day of Christmas
How was it?
All that Build-up
All that Craziness
And it’s over, right?
Nope.
Its Just Beginning.
Yesterday was Christmas Day.
Today is the First Day of Christmas. (more…)

Not About Selfies
I came upon a Clever Little Novelty Book.
A Small Photo Album
Entitled, “Selfie”
And each page was captioned, “Me.”
“Me”
“Me”
“Me”
“Me”…
Very Clever for an Album of Selfies…

Christmas is not the same thing. (more…)
