It’s that time.
I need a new Bathing Suit.
I’ve always been a bit of a Bargain Hunter.
Not one to purchase clothes in a new Season as they are introduced at Full Price.
More often I shop a Season behind…
Autumn Clothing when it’s on sale in the Winter.
Bathing Suits in August.
Summer Clothing in the Autumn…
And so, Finding myself in downtown Seattle for a handful of Joyful Reasons,

No need to Worry!
It’s been over a Month now.
People have forgotten it even happened.
As CHAD GRIFFIN, Head of the Human Rights Campaign, was quick to point out on FACE THE NATION the very next Day,
“You know, in a majority of states in the country still today, after this ruling, you can be married at 10:00 a.m., fired from your job by noon, and evicted from your home by 2:00 simply for posting that wedding photo on Facebook.”
See?
Our sense of self-privilege is perfectly protected.

Growing up,
We lived upstairs in Apartment 4A.
My Aunt lived downstairs with her family in Apartment 1A.
My Mother and her Sister talked every day
Several times a day.
When prime time television ended each night at 11pm, My Aunt would bang on the Radiator Pipe to let us know she was coming up.
My Mother would grab a wooden spoon and bang back to let her know it was OK.
I never understood the point of this, as they came every night at the same time
and it was always OK.
My Aunt and Uncle would sit with my Mother and Father,
and they would have a cup of coffee together before bedtime.
My Mother and her Sister shared all kinds of things. (more…)

I bought my friend MARK an Ice Pop Maker for his Birthday.
The Perfect Gift! He Loves Ice Pops!
I headed up to Canada to bring it to him.
The night before, as I was packing, I wondered if it would be OK to bring it on the plane.
It was an Ice Cream Maker -type gizmo, which contained some kind of freezing fluid inside (Water? Dry Ice? It didn’t say…)

It’s nice to have a Monday Holiday.
I remember the Initial Television Campaign in the 1960’s:
“Celebrate America on the Monday Holidays!”
I Was a Kid.
I didn’t understand how you could move a Calendar around like that,
But that was only the beginning of the many Monumental Changes in Life I would have to learn to Understand…
And So Memorial Day went from May 30th to the last Monday in May.
It had been previously known as Decoration Day

GRANDMA always said Transplanting must be done in March and October.
She always had Beautiful HousePlants.
I am a little late this year.
Got it done in April.
But it was still cold enough.
I think the Idea is that, at least in New York, the weather gets Warmer after March and the Plants can Flourish;
And it gets Colder after October, so the Plants lie somewhat Dormant.
So, rather than in the Middle of a Cycle,
you want to do any Transplanting at those Transition Points.

It is politely and colloquially used as a response to “Gracias” (i.e.: “Thank You.”)
