It’s Noble What We Do

geoffrey-owensGEOFFREY OWENS is a friend of mine.
He is a Class Act — a Wonderful Actor, and an even More Wonderful Human Being!
He achieved some celebrity status when right after graduating from the Yale School of Drama, he played the character of Elvin on THE COSBY SHOW.
I was the Casting Assistant on that show for several seasons, and between that and our mutual social circles, we have known one another some thirty years.

You may have heard some of the hubbub this week, created when some pathetic ignoramus took a picture of GEOFFREY working at Trader Joe’s and in an abuse of social media, (more…)

Celebrating Our Labors!

I heard someone this morning use the phrase,
“If I had a Dollar for Every Time [such and such], well, I wouldn’t have to work, because I’d be a Billionaire!”
Have To?
We don’t Have To.
We Get To!

Today is Labor Day.
It is a Celebration of our Labor, and that we Get To Work.
How Blessed we Are!

What do we Bring to the Table?
How are we Making Better what is Before us?

The Important Thing

20150811_173311The other day, I was talking to my MOM about all the Travel I’ve been doing.
“O.K.,” MOM commented. “As Long as You’re Having Fun! That’s the Important thing.”
And then it struck me.
She has Always said that.
Always.
Even when I was a Kid.
She said that to all of us — not just to her own Kids, but even to friends from the neighborhood who visited or to others at Family Gatherings, and to her own Friends, as well.

“Having Fun! That’s the Important thing!”
It makes sense to me that this kind of Wisdom comes with being almost ninety years old.
But, in this case, it seems more like
Something she has Always Known.
