POPE FRANCIS seems a pretty Cool Guy.

I mean, especially compared to his Dangerous Predecessor,
A Murderer I equate on a par with RONALD REAGAN:
POPE BENEDICT, formerly “CARDINAL RATZINGER,” a Hitler Youth who back in the Eighties authored the document, “On The Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons” which implied that the Murder of Homosexuals was something brought upon themselves by their behavior.
I have a copy of this Document.

POPE FRANCIS made his visit to the United States
Shaking hands with people so as to avoid having his Ring Kissed.
Speaking his Truth regardless of whom it might offend,
Speaking Out against Global Warming,
Calling for the Abolishment of the Death Penalty
Speaking in Favor of Equality…

The UNITED STATES CONFERENCE OF CATHOLIC BISHOPS (USCCB) arranged for the POPE to meet mostly with White Men in Suits.

Conservative Christian Leaders chastised the White House for allowing Gay Advocates like V. GENE ROBINSON and the Moderator of my own Church, the Reverend NANCY WILSON, to be among the 15,000 People attending the Ceremony held on the West Lawn of the White House.

And, no doubt, it was Conservative Leaders in the USCCB who shamefully hijacked a bit of the POPE’s time in order to create the illusion that POPE FRANCIS supports the Madness of KIM DAVIS’ Hostile Prejudice, refusing, in her insignificant lower level government position, to obey the Supreme Court Ruling to issue Marriage Licenses to LGBTQ Couples in Kentucky.

And she has had Way More than her fifteen minutes!

While POPE FRANCIS did not disregard the Christian Church’s Policies on Same Sex Marriage, one cannot help the feeling that he had no idea who she was before they met.
There was No Translator Present and he does not speak English.
We do not know what he said.
All we know about the meeting is what KIM DAVIS’ Lawyer said that KIM said he said…

And DAVIS’ Lawyer, MAT STAVER, has proven himself before to be a pandering Liar to advance her agenda.

To Quote BRANDAN ROBERTSON, “In other words, the Pope was used and manipulated by conservative politicians and religious groups to create the appearance of sympathy and support for their agenda of inequality and oppression of LGBTQ citizens in the United States.”

I went to High School with a Girl named CARMEN NANKO who seemed to understand more about Religion and Theology than anyone I’d ever known.
We always said we wanted her for POPE.
And I still Do!
She once walked up to me and said, quite out of the blue,
“We are signing the Masses at St. THERESA’s every Sunday. Come join us.”
“But I don’t know Sign Language,” I replied.
She shrugged and made a “Nonsense!” kind of Growl, telling me, “You’ll learn! We’ll teach You!”
And she did.
And I did it. For Years.

Her Facebook Feed follows the Pope’s Visit pretty closely, as she is a pretty high Mucky Muck Rather Awesome Theologian, and she got to hear a lot of the Papal Conferences with Bishops in great detail.

Regarding the POPE’s Meeting with KIM DAVIS,
The Catholic Church has been quite clear that it is not a sin for a government official to process a Civil Marriage License even if it were to be used for a marriage not recognized by the Catholic Church.
Catholics have done so for centuries.

So why would the Pope agree with her hostile marginalizing, most Un-Christian actions?

People tell me I am being duped, and the Pope met with her intentionally.
I choose not to believe that.
There is So much Politics involved at that level of the Church — at that level of Anything.
I have never been one to defend a Pope’s Actions.
But this Guy seems pretty Cool to me
Slowly, but positively effecting Change in a 2,000-year old institution
And I’m giving him the Benefit of the Doubt on this one.

Maybe that’s what being a Person of Faith is, after all…
Seeing the Good in the Other Side.

MY POPE-CARMEN-TO-BE points out that there is a Synod this Weekend in Rome which will address the Church’s way-too-hostile position on Homosexuality. Members of both sides are scrambling to hold their position, and this could have been fodder for the Conservative Agenda manipulating the Pope into this meeting with KIM DAVIS.

Now, as the POPE returns to Rome, MY POPE-CARMEN-TO-BE concludes,

“So in utter disappointment to the few, the papal visit ends without a word spoken against gay marriage, abortion singled out above all other sins, family narrowly defined, or religious liberty constructed as a hammer to ObamaCare. In this age that is perhaps the very best we can get, and that is a major accomplishment.”

Arrivederci, POPE FRANCIS!

UPDATE 10/2/15: According to http://www.Faithful America.org,

“After days of speculation, the truth has finally come out: Pope Francis did not hold a private meeting to express his support for Kim Davis’s efforts to block gay marriage licenses.

According to an official Vatican statement, Kim Davis was among “several dozen persons” attending a reception at the Vatican embassy, “the pope did not enter into the details of the situation,” and “his meeting with her should not be considered a form of support.”

Moreover, it seems that the pope did not request Kim Davis be invited.

According to press reports, one man was likely responsible for Davis’s invitation: Carlo Maria Vigano, a conservative church official who was appointed by Pope Benedict as Vatican ambassador to the United States (formally called the “apostolic nuncio”).

Having created an opportunity for right-wing evangelicals to dishonestly hijack the message of the pope’s visit to the United States, Vigano must now resign.”
