Remember the Election a few weeks back when Republicans gained control of the House and the Senate?
…when three Senators currently under indictment were reelected to their seats?

Remember the Supreme Court gutting the Voting Rights Act last year under the logic that while Voter Fraud is a serious threat to the Nation, Racism is apparently completely a thing of the past?
We are all unprejudiced now, racismwise…
Remember that since BARACK OBAMA has been President, unemployment is down to 6% and the Economy has grown by 9%?
No one remembered that.

Remember where the Country was when GEORGE W. BUSH left Office, having taken us from its greatest surplus in History left by BILL CLINTON into it’s highest debt of All Time…

Remember how Fantastical it seemed that what was called the MINISTRY OF PLENTY (Miniplenty) would keep the population in a state of constant economic hardship…
Or that the MINISTRY OF TRUTH (Minitrue) would be in charge of propaganda, altering history, culture and entertainment…
Or that the MINISTRY OF PEACE (Minipax) would actually be the Cabinet that planned Wars — our own WAR DEPARTMENT was retitled the “DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE” in 1949, around the same time we shifted to a Defense Economy…
Or that the ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY (EPA) would be the Government Agency responsible for destroying the Oceans, Polluting the Air, and Fracking…

In George Orwell’s 1984, “Newspeak” was the “Controlled Language,”
It was designed by The Party to limit freedom of thought
Disagreement was a “thoughtcrime.”
The goal was to eliminate “oldspeak” (or current English) by the year 2050.

How are we doing?

A few terms from the Dictionary of Newspeak tell the story:

“Un-” is a prefix used for negation, since there are no antonyms in Newspeak. (e.g.: warm becomes uncold).
“Plus-” is an intensifier, in place of “more” or the suffix “-er.” (e.g.: great or better becomes plusgood.)
“-wise” – is a suffix which turns any word into an adverb. This allows the removal of repetitive words from the language (e.g.: completely and totally become fullwise.)

As plusdifficult to follow as this may have seemed at the time, the text messages on our unstupid phones reveal our use of language currentwise, as undifficult, and delivered speedwise. We are right on schedule, demisewise, for our 2050 Goal.

An unperson is a person who has been “vaporized”, i.e.: not only killed by the state, but effectively erased from existence — the concept that the person may have existed at one time and has disappeared cannot be expressed in Newspeak.

One browse internetwise shows plusclearwise that this is unpossible.
Informationwise, no one unexpands or unfrees our News…
Net Neutrality-wise, the Party of our newly elected Congress is poised to decide our fate.

Blackwhite – Accepting whatever the party tells you. Orwell describes it as “…loyal willingness to say black is white when party discipline demands this. It also means the ability to believe that black is white, and more, to know black is white, and forget that one has ever believed the contrary.”

So when the Party unavoids gerrymandering, i.e.: Redistricting the proles’ electorates so as to vaporize the votes of people of color, college students and other unpersons likely to vote Democratic, we undeny that electoral districtswise, this is exactly as our Party forefathers intended them; and unremember SAUL ALINSKY’s Bus caravans to register all those African American Proles. We unact, unremembering that any of this was ever undiscriminatory. Blackwhite.

Hate week – The Week in which Oceanian citizens all attend rallies and parades to inflame hatred of Party enemies and heighten their efforts on behalf of Oceania.

Telescreen – Two way television. There is only one channel, and the telescreen may not be turned off except by members of the Inner Party. All Party members are unfree to have one in every room of their apartment. Thus, the Party member is always unout of earshot of the latest Party propaganda, and not one secondwise are they not under the plussurveillance of the Party.

This was necessary so that a party member would not be forced to cloud their mind with such frivolous concepts. It produced rubbishy newspapers containing almost nothing except sport, crime and astrology, sensational five-cent novelettes, films oozing with sex, and sentimental songs.

Malreported – Facts from the Times, reportwise, which the government later deems untrue. Since the government is never “wrong”, the paper has to have reported the facts uncorrectwise. See malquoted below.
